Guest: Jennifer Allen, MS, ATR-BC, LMFT Website: boneknowing.com Summary In this conversation, Jennifer discusses her journey into psychedelic therapy and the integration of expanded states of consciousness. She explains the concept of harm reduction and how it differs from traditional psychotherapy. Jennifer also explores the different types of psychedelics and their uses, emphasizing the importance of set and setting. She highlights the role of the practitioner in holding sacred space and facilitating the integration process. Additionally, Jennifer discusses the ineffability of psychedelic experiences and the need for a new language to describe them. This conversation explores the topics of expanded states of consciousness, developing new language, creativity as altered states, ceremony and ritual, integration in indigenous cultures, scientific methodology and ceremony, access to psychedelic therapy, resources for psychedelic support, the importance of integration, underground psychedelic practitioners, psychedelic integration retreats, and integration as an ongoing process.Takeaways Psychedelic therapy can be a powerful tool for healing trauma and grief. Harm reduction focuses on educating individuals about the risks and benefits of psychedelics. Expanded states of consciousness can be induced through various practices, including psychedelics, meditation, and breathwork. Integration is a crucial part of the psychedelic experience, allowing individuals to bring insights and healing back into their everyday lives. The role of the practitioner in psychedelic therapy is to hold sacred space, support the client's journey, and facilitate the integration process. Expanded states of consciousness go beyond our usual way of understanding and conceptualizing. Developing new language, such as poetry and imagery, can help us communicate and understand these altered states. Creativity, including art, song, dance, and movement, can be a form of self-created ceremony and ritual. Indigenous cultures have long integrated psychedelics into their ceremonies and rituals, emphasizing set, setting, and integration. The scientific methodology can be used as a form of ceremony in the context of psychedelic therapy. There are resources available for those seeking psychedelic support, including websites and organizations. Integration is a crucial aspect of psychedelic experiences, and professional guidance can be beneficial. Underground psychedelic practitioners exist, but caution is advised when seeking their services. Psychedelic integration retreats offer experiential learning and support for individuals on their integration journey. Integration is an ongoing process that involves the preparation, experience, and integration of altered states of consciousness.

A solo episode about Shadow Work.
Shadow work is probably one of the most beautiful processes I’ve witnessed while working with people.
Those disowned or neglected parts of ourselves, if avoided, would sabotage and block us from creating the life we truly want. But the beauty here is that they always hold a special gift locked within.
If we’re able to face and respect the darker parts of ourselves, we can reclaim our power and potential.
Seeing and owning your shadows is seeing and owning your light.
Let me know if this resonates, and what your personal experience with Shadow work has been like.
